Jesus in the last supper - work by James AzzopardiIf you happen to be in Gozo during the Holy Week, you are cordially invited to visit the MUSEUM Centre in Nadur to see the Last Supper Exhibition. It has become an important annual event.

It was born in 1989 and all along the organizers tried to build up an original exhibition giving great care to minute details to create a replica and the biblical atmosphere prevailing in the upper room where our Lord had his Last Supper with his apostles. And every year the members of the Nadur MUSEUM branch try to build this upper room in new designs and structures though always faithful to Jewish culture and traditions.

Every visitor visitng this year's exhibition will be offered a small token with a religious message to help the visitor recollect our Lord's love for us all so abundantly shown during the Last Supper.

Besides the biblical aspect of the exhibition the visitor will also be regaled with the life size figures of Jesus and the apostles - all work created by a young Nadur artist - James Azzopardi. In 1998 the figure of Jesus was introduced and in 1999 another four apostles joined in. This year James is doing his very best to give us another four figures with the promise of completing the set in next year's exhibition. It will be the first and only Last Supper exhibition with life size figures in Gozo.

The exhibition will be inaugurated on Palm Sunday at 0930 CET.
